Lake Section Water Company is proud to have received the 2003 Water Taste Test Grand Prize from the New Mexico Rural Water Association, recognizing Lake Section as the Best Tasting Water in New Mexico.

More than two decades later, this recognition remains one of the company’s proudest achievements. It reflects the care, pride, and commitment behind the water we provide to the Chaparral community every day.

In 2003, Lake Section Water Company was selected for the top water taste honor in New Mexico. The award recognized the quality, clarity, and taste of the drinking water provided to customers in Chaparral.

For a local water utility, this recognition was especially meaningful. It showed that a community water system serving southern New Mexico could stand alongside some of the best drinking water systems in the country.

Following the New Mexico recognition, Lake Section Water Company advanced to the national level as part of the Great American Water Taste Test, held in Washington, D.C. The company was recognized as one of the top drinking water systems in the nation, representing New Mexico among other high-performing rural and small water systems from across the United States.
